I am grateful that I live in a part of
the world with plenty of clean water. It’s something we usually take for
granted, but now with the terrible drought in California, I’m reminded of how
blessed I am to live in northwest Connecticut, where the well at my house is
always filled with fresh, clean water and no government officials are threatening
to fine me if I take a shower longer than 5 minutes. However, if the melting
snow and spring rains cause my basement to flood later on this month, I’ll have
to work hard to remind myself that I still am blessed.
